Harnessing technology to support our city

As a smart city, Carmel uses information and communication technologies to increase operational efficiency and enhance the quality of life for our citizens.

The City of Carmel’s Technology department provides expertise and services to all city departments in pursuit of their unique missions, including support to economic development initiatives and to our city’s many partnerships.

Specific duties include:

  • Exploring and implementing technology solutions that advance city operations
  • Monitoring systems and networks to proactively respond to concerns
  • Maximizing the value of budget dollars spent on the technology infrastructure
  • Maintaining technology standards across the entire Carmel enterprise
  • Monitoring technology processes in an effort to increase productivity and decrease costs
