The Engineering Department manages Carmel’s infrastructure, working closely with developers, residents, and other city departments to ensure safe and efficient infrastructure and development within Carmel. Below are our key areas of focus:

Public Infrastructure Projects

Administration of capital projects to improve and maintain city streets, multi-use paths, sidewalks, and stormwater drainage systems.

Private Development Projects

Reviewing and approving plans for new residential and commercial developments, ensuring new infrastructure meets city standards and inspecting developments during construction.

Stormwater Management

Administering stormwater systems to ensure proper drainage and quality control and educating the public on stormwater management and related drainage issues.
