The Plan Commission helps manage the city's growth and development. The Commission also helps the City Council develop and update City Ordinances, the Comprehensive Plan, the Thoroughfare Plan and other long-range plans for housing, transportation, neighborhood development, parks, commercial development and public facilities.

Plan Commission Committees
Plan Commission Committees provide in-depth reviews of the issues that have been brought to the Plan Commission for consideration, also addressing negotiation, and formulation of a recommendation to the full Commission. The public is welcome to attend the meetings, but generally not invited to speak. Only under exceptional circumstances will the committee vote to accept public input of new issues, to ensure proper assessment of the petition. Special sessions will be held as needed.
The Combined Commercial and Residential Committee meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Chambers in City Hall.

The Full Plan Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at City Hall, 1 Civic Square, on the second floor in the Council Chambers.
