Bike to School Day

May 7, 2025

Bike to School Day is a national event that encourages students, families, and school communities to bike to school together, promoting healthy habits, safety, and environmentally friendly transportation. Held each May, it’s a fun and active way to build school spirit, reduce traffic congestion, and raise awareness about the importance of safe routes for biking and walking. Many of Carmel’s elementary schools participate in this annual event and in fact, we have a “rolling” trophy that every year goes to the school with the highest percentage of participating students.

Freewheelin' Community Bikes Donation Day

May 10, 2025

Do you have too many bikes and a lot of bike stuff? Donate it to Freewheelin' and let us put it to good use!

We want to make sure we are good stewards of your donation and to the riders your bike donation will help. Our standards for bicycle donations are an important part of our mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable transportation. Especially useful to us are:

+ Bikes with multiple speeds/gears
+ Quality bike shop brand-names and vintage steel frame bikes
+ Modern comfort bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, and cruisers

We also accept gently used & operable bicycle-related donations (e.g., components, bicycles, tools, etc). All donated products will be used to enrich our youth programming and offer affordable transportation options to the Freewheelin’ community.

Donations will be accepted at Carmel City Hall starting at 11am. Donation receipts are available upon request.

Start Time: 11 a.m.

Slow Roll Dinner Cruise

June 10, June 24, July 15, July 29, August 12, August 26, 2025
All events are on Tuesday evening.

Join us for the 18+ Slow Roll Dinner Cruise. We'll meet at Midtown Plaza. We will lead the group at a casual pace on a ride for about 60 minutes. We'll end back at Midtown where you can enjoy eating at one of the many restaurants at the Plaza.

What's the pace?
This is called a Slow Roll because we keep it casual. We want everybody to be comfortable at a pace that lets us finish feeling good! We will stay together as a group and won't leave anybody behind. Don't worry about the distance of the ride, it is just an hour.

Start Time
Check in is at 5:30pm and we will roll out promptly at 6pm.

Age Requirement
We'll be riding on roads and riders must be 18 years old to join us.
