Festival of Ice

This winter, the city is hosting the Festival of Ice, a two-day presentation featuring the works of 10 ice carvers sourced from various regions of the country. The event is structured to allow the public an opportunity to view these individuals manipulating ice blocks into temporary sculptures across two different outdoor venues.
Activities & Schedule:
  • Ice Carving: Day 1
    • Time: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    • Location: Main Street
    • Details: The first stage of carving will take place with 10 participants beginning their initial pieces.
  • Ice Carving: Day 2
    • Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Location: Carter Green
    • Details: Carvers will relocate to this area to finalize a separate, second sculpture for evaluation.
  • Fire Department Chili Cook-Off (Saturday, Jan. 17th)
    • Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
    • Location: Carter Green
    • Details: Local fire department teams will offer samples of their chili for public tasting and subsequent voting.
  • Ice Skating (Saturday, Jan. 17th)
    • Time: 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM
    • Location: Ice Rink at Carter Green
    • Details: The public skating venue will be operational throughout the day.
  • Award Ceremony
    • Time: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    • Location: Pavillion at Carter Green
    • Details: Results from the judging panel and public votes will be announced.
