National Drive Electric Week Event

Facebook Carmel EV Ride and Drive Event

The City of Carmel, in partnership with Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Hoosier Electric Vehicle Association, Carmel Green Initiative, Citizens Climate Lobby, AAA, Solar United Neighbors, Indiana Design Center, St. Lukes UMC, and Knozone is excited to announce an EV Ride and Drive on Saturday, September 30, 2023, as part of the National Drive Electric Week which is presented by Plug In America, Electric Vehicle Association, Sierra Club and EVHybridNoire.

Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive Electric Vehicles (EVs) from ten different dealerships, Low Speed Electric Vehicles, e-motorcycles and e-bikes, speak with EV owners and find out other important information regarding owning and charging EVs in Carmel and Central Indiana.

The event takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the parking lot on the south side of the Indiana Design Center at 200 S. Range Line Road.

EV Ride and Drive events give the public the chance to check out new electric vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers and talk to current EV owners. This year, we will have vehicles from Audi, BMW, Ford, GEM, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Nissan, Subaru, VW, and Volvo to test drive.
There will be e-bikes from Future-Velo, Pedego of Carmel, and Gray Goat Cyclery.
Additionally, this year we’ve added e-motorcycles from Tom Wood Powersports and electric riding lawnmowers, from Tom Wood Outdoor Equipment and McGavic Outdoor Power, to the event.
In addition to learning how to charge and where to charge EVs, you can also learn ways they improve air quality and reduce CO2 emissions, how to charge them with solar power, how much fun they are to drive and how owning an EV can save you money in the long run.
